John “Jack” Whitaker, a community pillar, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026. A practicing pharmacist for over 50 years, John was known for his professional expertise and his deep commitment to the well being of his community.
John previously served on the Violet Township Board of Trustees and was a proud member of the Free Masons of Ohio. He remained active in the Pickerington Historical Society, where he shared his passion for local heritage. He was a devoted member of the Peace United Methodist Church, cherishing his involvement and the many dear friends he made there.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Beverly Whitaker and his daughter Tracy Whitaker. He is survived by daughters Debra (Charles) Foster and Jennifer (David) Greening, 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services to be held on Friday March 13th at Peace United Methodist Church, 235 Diley Road, Pickerington. Visitation from 9:00-10:00. Funeral service 10:00-11:00. The church invites all family and friends to share a celebratory meal immediately following.
